Ambassador Jan Store strengthens Miltton Brussels as new CEO

Miltton Group has appointed Ambassador Jan Store as CEO of Miltton Brussels. Store has previously acted as permanent representative of Finland to the European Union. With Store in charge, Miltton Brussels will expand and diversify its EU-level analysis, expertise and advocacy services for both Finnish and Nordic customers.

Jan Store has a comprehensive knowledge and experience of the European Union. He acted as Finland’s permanent representative to the EU from 2008 to 2013, and deputy permanent representative from 1995 to 2000. Between these posts, he served as director general for European affairs in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and Finland’s ambassador to Poland from 2004 to 2008. Before that, Store was a member of the team negotiating Finland’s membership of the EU. He has also served in Paris and Geneva.

As permanent representative of Finland to the EU, Store represented Finland in the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper II).

“Jan Store has an exceptional understanding of the European Union and has enjoyed a long-standing co-operation with the other Nordic countries in European affairs. Through his high-level positions he has gained insight in all aspects, policies and areas of European integration”, says Mathias Järnström, MD of Miltton Group.

“Decisions taken in Brussels are crucial for enterprises and economic actors. These decisions influence and steer their activities and have a far-reaching impact on the Finnish and Nordic societies. Finnish and Nordic enterprises need a solid understanding of the decision-making process and an effective and proactive channel of influence at the core of European policy-making”, says Jan Store, CEO of Miltton Brussels.

Miltton establishes a Nordic joint venture

Miltton opened its office in Brussels last autumn. With the appointment of Store, the office expands and a Nordic joint venture is established together with Danish agency Holm Kommunikation, a long-term partner of Miltton. 85 per cent of the new company stock is owned by Miltton Group and its key personnel, and 15 per cent by Holm Kommunikation.

Miltton Brussels provides expertise for all Miltton’s Finnish and Nordic customers; for the Swedish customers of Miltton Labs, founded earlier this year; and for the Danish customers of Holm Kommunikation. The office will expand its advice and services accordingly.

“Miltton Brussels offers first-class advancement of interests for all Nordic actors. Public affairs activities taking place in Brussels need the same cross-channel thinking we have seen in Nordic marketing communications,” says Fredrik Andersson, board member of Miltton Group and CEO of Miltton Labs.
