Finland’s sixth Nenäpäivä-campaign launched at Miltton showroom

The Nenäpäivä-campaign, organized annually by Ylen Hyvä Säätiö, was launched on Wednesday, October 17th, at a press event at Miltton showroom. Nenäpäivä supports development cooperation projects promoting children’s rights around the world. In 2011, Nenäpäivä raised over two million euros, and this year the campaign aims even higher. Nenäpäivä can be followed on the campaign’s website and on Facebook.

The Nenäpäivä press event brought together the faces and supporters of the campaign, including Minister for International Development Heidi Hautala, who spoke about the importance of development aid. A Nenäpäivä t-shirt, co-designed by Paola Suhonen, Jere Hietala and Michael Monroe, was also presented at the event.

Known as the funniest fundraising campaign of the year, the three week-long Nenäpäivä organizes fundraising events around Finland to help children in the world’s poorest countries. Upcoming events include, among others, a week-long Nenäradio, which combines eight individual radio stations, and Finnair’s exclusive Nenä flight. The campaign culminates in Yle’s Nenäpäivä show on Friday, November 9th.
