Non-Discrimination Ombudsman partnered up with Miltton in 2015 to raise awareness of the Ombudsman and the authority. The consulting cooperation included an analysis of the current level of awareness and a plan of action on how to raise it. The aim of the Non-Discrimination Ombudsman is to become more approachable and better known, so that people would know to come to the authority with suspected or experienced discrimination. In addition, an amendment changing the earlier authority, Ombudsman for Minorities, into Non-Discrimination Ombudsman came into effect on January 1, 2015 and increased the need for communication.
Miltton organised workshops, in which the management and experts of the Non-Discrimination Ombudsman office worked on the authority’s key messages and new ways of working to integrate communications as a part their routines.
Together we identified new communication principles: Proactivity, Diversity and Cooperation and a Multichannel Approach. In media communications, we outlined ways to get from reactive to proactive actions and reach new audiences. The created measures were collected to the action plan to raise awareness of the Ombudsman.
